Allianz Field
Located in the heart of Saint Paul’s Midway-Snelling neighborhood, Allianz Field was constructed on a 35-acre urban brownfield site, the previous home to a historic street car maintenance facility in the early 1900s, and a Metro Transit bus facility from 1950 to 2012. Project and site challenges included decades of soil and groundwater contamination; untreated stormwater flowing into the Mississippi River; significant coordination needs among numerous stakeholders, property owners and jurisdictions; and the need for revolutionary methods to successfully deliver a design which would truly exemplify the next generation of MLS stadiums.
Loucks provided state-of-the-art civil design and hydrology solutions to help create the region’s largest comprehensive stormwater system, which conserves more than 2 million gallons of water annually. Loucks and the project team worked closely with the client and multiple stakeholders to successfully transform this brownfield redevelopment project into the cornerstone of a revitalized urban neighborhood.
